Evan has had an interesting week. He got pink-eye in one eye which eventually made it's way to the other then to mommy's eyes and finally daddy's. Giving him eye drops was one of the most difficult tasks we've ever had. I am sure it would have been easier to give them to the dog or cat. We are all better now and have made it through our 1st family illness. Through this he did get to enjoy a day at the Bronx zoo. I think he liked looking at the people more than the animals though. Here we are checking out the bears...

Evan has found some new thing he likes to do these days. He loves to open up the door on our entertainment center and take all of the movies off the shelf, he discovered how to flush the toilet and does it repeatedly if he can get into the bathroom and he also loves drink from (or at least chew on) a big cup. Daddy had a rare summer day off today and so Evan got to experience the beach and ocean!! He had his first BBQ last night and had so much fun meeting everyone. He even got his own new bench which he seems to love...

Wow! Evan is 8 months old already. I can't believe it!! He's up to 15 pounds 7 ounces and 26.5 inches. He still loves to stand and actually stood in the yard unsupported for a little bit yesterday. He is also beginning to cruise a little bit but likes crawling better right now. The steps are next to be conquered. He got up on both knees on the bottom step this morning. He's babbling both mama and dada now and has added a new one: "Nay nay nay nay". Maybe he wants to see his Aunt Renee? We gave the meat another shot and he had the same pukey reaction so we will stick with the tofu for now and yogurt. He tried yogurt with pears and with peaches and loved it. He's also been taking a swimming class which is so much fun. Last week he splashed around so much he kept hitting me in the eye. I might have to wear safety goggles next time.
